Sick Means Good (English Comedy)

Production Style & Sonic Direction: old-school boom bap hip-hop, 92 BPM, dusty SP1200 drums, vinyl crackle, jazz piano sample, walking upright bass, female and male duet rapped and sung, English language learning hoo

[Intro - male voice, deadpan]
Grandma asked me how the concert was.
I said it was sick.
She took me to the doctor.
Welcome to slang.

[Verse 1 - sung playful]
Sick means good, sick means cool
Sick means awesome, that is the rule
The band was sick, the trick was sick
No one is ill, the slang is the kick

[Verse 2 - sung]
Bad means good, since the eighties came
That song is bad, you would not blame
Michael said bad, he meant top of the line
The word flipped over, the meaning got fine

[Pre-Chorus - female voice]
Wicked means good in Boston and beyond
Killer means amazing, the slang has a wand
Dope, fire, lit, slaps, hits different too
All of them mean the same thing, they all mean true

[Chorus - duet, lifted]
Sick means good, bad means great
Wicked, killer, dope, fire, do not hesitate
The word means the opposite of what it should
Slang is a remix, slang is the hood

[Verse 3 - rapid-fire]
That fit slaps, that beat hits, that joke is fire
He is a savage, she is goated, they are higher
Slay, mid, cap, no cap, bet, on god
Every decade flips the dictionary, that is the squad

[Verse 4]
Grandma says groovy, mom says rad
Dad says tight, kid says bad
Gen Z says bussin, the meal was bussin good
In ten years bussin will be old wood

[Bridge - half-time, sparse]
Language is a living thing.
Slang is the fastest part.
A word that meant terrible in eighteen eighty
Means amazing today.

[Chorus - duet, harmonized]
Sick means good, bad means great
Wicked, killer, dope, fire, do not hesitate
The word means the opposite of what it should
Slang is a remix, slang is the hood

[Outro - spoken, soft]
The concert was sick.
The meal was bussin.
The joke was fire.
Nobody is ill.
It is just slang.
